Frankfurt: South Koreans buy Büroturm T8
The South Korean Mirae Asset Global Investments Co. is taking over an office building in Frankfurt, the “Büroturm T8”. The seller is Credit Suisse or its liquidation fund CS Euroreal. The deal is said to have been closed by the end of the first half year for a purchase price of about €300mn, as TD found out from market insiders. The 68 m building with almost 30,000 sqm lettable space took the place of an existing structure in the Bahnhofsviertel (Taunusanlage 8), and was built according to plans by Offenbach-based architecture firm Prof. Fritz Novotny and Frankfurt’s msm meyer schmitz-morkramer. It was finished late last year. Anchor tenant on about 10,800 sqm is the corporate law firm Linklaters. Mirae had made headlines in 2015 by acquiring the Lanxess-Arena in Cologne jointly with a Chinese family office.
