Bochum: Student housing tower planned at main station
Base Camp GmbH is planning a 60-meter-high student residence with 400 apartments and a new car park with several hundred parking spaces on the site of a current car park near to Bochum’s central train station. The plans drawn up by Gerber Architekten were presented in the Town Hall according to an announcement from the City. The apartments will be built on an approx. 1,430-sqm plot, which is owned by the municipal economic development company. It is also the building contractor of the car park. The dormitory, which can also be used by tourists, will be added to the European Student Housing Fund, in which Triton Europe Investments is involved and which also includes the “Base Camp” project in Dortmund announced in March. Similar projects are being pursued in Berlin, Potsdam and Leipzig.
