CBRE: New department for investments outside of the Top 7

CBRE has established a department for investments in B-rated locations. Starting in January, the team called “Überregionales Investment/Major Provincials” will begin managing transactions outside of the Top 7 markets with a focus on the seller side. It will be headed by Thorge Albat (40) and Mathias Keller (37). Albat joins from investment manager Coresis, where he was Head of Investment in charge of acquisitions primarily outside of the Top 7 markets for six years. Before that he also worked for Axa Investment Managers in the property acquisition unit. Keller is coming to CBRE after ten years with JLL, during which he mainly handled sales mandates also outside of the Top 7 markets. “The professionalization of real estate markets in B-cities is progressing steadily,” CBRE Head of Investment Fabian Klein explains the reason for creating the department. “At the same time, these markets are showing highly dynamic development and have become established as attractive investment locations.”
