Berlin: WBM plans for 350 more apartments in Spandau

The housing association Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Berlin-Mitte (WBM) has plans for another residential quarter in Spandau’s “Wasserstadt Oberhavel” area. Around 350 apartments and commercial units with altogether about 25,000 sqm of lettable space are to be built in two construction phases on the approx. 10,000-sqm property at Rauchstrasse 34-40. The first construction phase, scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2020, involves 250 apartments and some commercial spaces; the entire project should be completed by the 3rd quarter of 2022. An urban planning expert review board awarded first prize to a design by Bruno Fioretti Marquez Architekten. WBM is also involved in the construction of the Pepitahöfe, together with Dewego, with over 1,000 apartments. The company has also announced plans for a residential quarter on the eastern shore of the Spandauer See, with 350 rental apartments in the first construction phase alone.
