Berlin: Commodus acquires and develops IBM building in Marienfelde

Commodus Real Estate Capital has acquired an office building at Nahmitzer Damm 12 in Berlin’s Marienfelde district for its fund “Commodus Deutschland Fund II SCSp, RAIF”. The building has around 11,000 sqm of office space; roughly 37% is being let to the US IT firm IBM, which had also leased the rest of the space before giving it up in 2018. Commodus now intends to develop the 1986 building into a multi-tenant property and “convert it into an attractive office campus.” More than 5,000 sqm of space is available for immediate occupancy. The seller of the property, the asset manager Amundi RE Italia SGR on behalf of its fund “Amundi RE Europa,” says that it was acquired in April 2005.
