BMW creates 20 ha additional storage capacity in Lower Bavaria
BMW has begun expanding its parts storage facility near the production plant on Industriestraße 5 in Dingolfing (Lower Bavaria). As a company spokesperson told TD, the automaker is adding a 100,000 sqm hall to its “Dynamic Center” at that location by 2020. BMW is handling the development themselves. The reason for the decision is the increased need for after sales logistics. By the fall of this year, BMW wants to begin operations an another new structure at its logistics location Wallersdorf (Hans-Glas-Straße) 24 km away, which specializes in the distribution of fast moving parts. The DAX company will lease the 80,000 sqm from investor Dibag Industriebau after completion.
