CBRE GI to invest a further €500mn in Germany in 2019


CBRE Global Investors (CBRE GI) expanded its portfolio in Germany and Austria by 22% to over €2.8bn in 2018. Purchase volume was around €540mn, while real estate divestitures totaled €80mn. CBRE GI’s target for acquisitions in Germany for this year is around €500mn. The investment manager noted the acquisition of the Hanseviertel in Hamburg and the “stilwerk Berlin” as its largest transactions of the past year. Around 120,000 sqm were let in 2018, with 90,000 sqm in the logistics segment alone. CBRE GI concluded transactions throughout Europe worth €8.9bn, including purchases for €5.5bn and sales for €3.4bn. Its firepower for 2019 is currently around €4bn for the entire European region.
