Deutsche-Hypo Index declines further – “long-term trend”

The real estate climate index of Deutsche Hypo has declined by 11.5 % since the beginning of the year. “If you consider that in the past four years, worse sentiment than today was recorded only once, it does seem to be a long-term trend,” says Deutsche Hypo executive Sabine Barthauer. November brought a decrease by 1.6 % to 123.0 points, which was mainly due to the investment climate (-2.5 %). The only gain was observed for residential property (1.1 %), while the hotel climate lost 5 %. Retail was stable in November, but has dropped 30.8 % since the beginning of the year.
