Deutsche-Hypo Index surprisingly positive

The mood in the real estate industry seems to have improved. The Deutsche-Hypo Index rose by 3.8% to 119.4 points after a five-fold decline. This comes as a surprise to Deutsche Hypothekenbank, which publishes the index, as general conditions have not fundamentally changed in recent months. Another surprise is that estimates for retail real estate have improved sharply (+12.5% to 74.2 points). The logistics climate also recovered by 4.6% to 136.4 points after last month’s slowdown. The office segment rose by 3.7% to 137.9 points. The residential segment in contrast recorded a slowdown of 0.3% to 139.5 points, but remaining in the top position nevertheless. Hotels fell by 1.4% to a new low of 110.3 index points.
