Düsseldorf: Euref plans €200mn innovation campus


The Berlin-based Euref AG plans to set up a new innovation campus near Düsseldorf Airport, focusing on research for “mobility of the future”. It is to serve as a meeting place for companies, start-ups and research institutions in the mobility sector, and according to current plans will have 2,500 employees. Euref intends to invest €200mn in the 40,000 sqm property. Schneider Electric has signed on as its first anchor tenant – the company, presently headquartered in Ratingen, will relocate its German headquarters there with 750 employees. The application for the preliminary building permit for the project will be submitted in the next round of meetings. Negotiations are being held for the acquisition of the municipal land.
