Frankfurt: 140 m housing tower planned near Hauptbahnhof
An apartment tower of 140 m us going up near Frankfurt’s main station. The project is part of the roughly 600 residential units of the Grand Central quarter development by Phoenix Real Estate and Groß & Partner. Mecanoo Architecten from the Netherlands have won the architecture competition. The concept also includes an apartment building of up to 60 m in height, as well as a 1,300 sqm day care center and 1,700 sqm commercial space for local supply and restaurants. The first construction phase of the Grand Central consists of a company headquarters for DB Netz AG to be constructed by 2020. Work on the housing portion is to start in late 2020/early 2021.
