Frankfurt: Bundesbank move to FBC delayed by one year
Deutsche Bundesbank will not be moving into its interim offices in Frankfurt’s office tower FBC until summer 2021. The moving date in 2020 originally offered by the owner, a joint venture of Intown and Aroundtown, will not be possible, Bundesbank told TD upon inquiry. The reason was reported today in the “Frankfurter Neue Presse”: Current FBC anchor tenant Clifford Chance will not be able to vacate the premises by the end of this year as planned. The firm’s new offices in the “Junghof Plaza” will not be completed on time. Builder PGIM will take until late 2020 to complete the redevelopment of the former commercial center. For Bundesbank, the delay is not a problem; in 2018 the bank had already warned of possible delays due to a redesign of the conversion at the Dornbusch campus.
