Hamburg: Aug. Prien to build 10,000 sqm of office space at Domplatz

Developer Aug. Prien has announced its office and residential building project between Domstraße, Alten Fischmarkt and Grosse Reichenstraße in Hamburg’s Altstadt district. As reported in the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, the current existing buildings that Aug. Prien acquired in recent years will be replaced by an eleven-story building with 10,000 sqm of office space and a six-story building with 60 apartments and retail shops on the ground floor. The project will cost around €100mn. Managing Director Frank Holst told the newspaper that  “we would like to start in 2021 and expect a construction period of three years.” The newspaper included SPD and Green Party district politicians’ expressions of approval. The project is one of several major office construction projects in the eastern part of  Hamburg’s city center.
