Hamburg: Avison Young acquires Völckers & Cie

The Hamburg commercial broker Völckers & Cie is now part of Avison Young. Völckers & Cie founding partners Jochen Völckers and Marc Bachmann are transferring their shares to the international brokerage firm and becoming Principals. Jochen Völckers is heading the Hamburg Avison Young branch, which will increase from 14 to 34 employees as a result of the integration, while also joining the six-member German Management Team. Oliver Herrmann, formerly Branch Manager of Avison Young in Hamburg, will head the Investment team. Bachmann is being named Director of Office Leasing. Udo Stöckl, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director, Germany, announced expansion plans, both organically and through acquisitions, a year ago; since then the number of employees has risen from 65 to 100. The merger with Avison Young means that Völckers & Cie is leaving the NAI network. Jochen Völckers sees new opportunities to support customers in Germany and abroad under the Avison Young flag due to the closer partnership. NAI is meanwhile conducting “intensive talks for new partners in Hamburg and other locations”, says NAI Managing Partner Andreas Wende, adding, “we will soon be successful”.
