Leipzig: Argo plans 54,000 sqm GFA on Krystallpalast site
The historic Krystallpalast lot near Leipzig’s main station is to be turned into a city quarter with 54,000 sqm GFA. Plans for the site include eight buildings, with apartments, shops, offices, hotels, micro-apartments, a day care, and a residence for seniors. The quarter between Wintergartenstraße, Hofmeisterstraße, and Brandenburger Straße is based on a master plan by Grunwald & Grunwald drafted in 2015 and the results of an architecture workshop with five firms. The owner of the roughly 19,000 sqm site and also investor since early this year is Argo Capital Partners, who has hired Orka Development to run the project. Construction is scheduled to start next year. Argo states they anticipate completion in 2022/23.
