Logistics property: Take-up in North Rhine-Westphalia increases by 40 %

Take-up of logistics spaces in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia during the first half-year was roughly 875,000 sqm, which is about 40 % above the same period of last year. This is mainly attributable to leases and owner-occupant projects outside of the four core markets on the Rhine and Ruhr rivers. For instance, leases signed by logistics firm Hammer in Eschweiler near Aachen and by Amazon in Oelde (Münsterland) alone add up to more than 200,000 sqm. CBRE advised the users on both developments. At the key logistics locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, top rents have increased considerably. In Düsseldorf, CBRE recorded a rise by 2 % to €5.50/sqm, in Cologne and the Ruhr region the plus was 4 %, raising rents to €5.30 and €5.00/sqm. The reason, CBRE says, is the continuously growing lack of spaces with building approval.
