NRW: Logistics take-up down 16 %, CBRE calculates
Take up in the logistics and storage market in North Rhine-Westphalia declined by 16 % compared to the previous year to 674,000 sqm during the first half of 2019, according to calculations by CBRE. The Ruhr area was able to defy the trend, logging a plus in take-up of 87 % to 347,000 sqm. Significant declines were recorded in Düsseldorf, where take-up dropped 59 % to 49,000 sqm. The greater Cologne area showed a minus of 78 % to 26,000 sqm. For the whole year, CBRE is not expecting the 2018 total of 1.6 million sqm to be reached. Reasons include an increasing lack of available space, which has now spread to NRW from the south of Germany.
