Premier Inn sees potential for 50,000 rooms in Germany

Premier Inn reports having established 27 new hotel locations in Germany last year. Apart from 19 properties the British firm took over from Foremost Hospitality Group, they also acquired eight more projects at new locations like Munich, FrankfurtStuttgartNurembergMannheim, and Eschborn. The company is currently running two hotels in Frankfurt and Hamburg, two more are to open in Munich over the course of the year, and 35 are in the pipeline. By late 2020, at least 20 of the establishments are expected to be open for business. For the long term, Premier Inn’s parent company Whitbread sees potential for at least 50,000 rooms across the country. “Germany offers us enormous growth potential,” says Mark Anderson, Managing Director Property and International at Whitbread. Wherever possible, Premier Inn develops the properties themselves and keeps them in their portfolio.
