Sephora to open large stores on the Zeil and Schildergasse
The cosmetics brand Sephora is continuing its expansion in Germany by opening its own stores. TD has learned from market insiders that the chain has rented over 1,000 sqm in the Upper Zeil shopping center in Frankfurt, and 1,200 sqm at Schildergasse 49 in Cologne, formerly occupied by shoe retailer Roland Schuhe. JLL is said to have advised the transaction. Sephora, a member of the French LVMH Group, has so far opened store-within-a-store businesses with Kaufhof, and a 350 sqm store in the Main-Taunus-Zentrum shopping center. It also leased retail space (150 sqm) at Alexanderplatz in Berlin this past June.
