SRE builds 150 apartments in Schönefeld

Strabag Real Estate (SRE) has begun construction of 154 rental apartments in central Schönefeld, on the outskirts of Berlin. The “Rathausvillen” project is being built on 11,000 sqm between Rathausgasse and Großziethener Weg, and should be ready for occupancy by the end of 2020. The five-building project was designed by the Berlin architectural firm Cramer Neumann Architekten. The general contractor is Strabag’s subsidiary, Züblin. The apartments will range between 40 sqm and 100 sqm; letting is scheduled to start at the beginning of next year. Züblin is already working in Schönefeld as general contractor for two projects of DIE Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG – the “Theodor-Fontane-Höfe” and the “Sonnenhöfe”, together comprising about 900 apartments. SRE intends to pursue further residential projects in the greater Berlin area.
